Carters is pleased to announce that the 2024 Carters Annual Charity & Not-for-Profit Law Webinar will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, from 9:00 am ET to 1:00 pm ET.

The webinar is designed to assist charities and not-for-profits in understanding developing trends in the law, in order to reduce exposure to legal liability. The webinar continues its tradition of serving the broader faith community, including religious organizations, as it has every year since 1994. Carters is a law firm with offices in Orangeville, Ottawa and Toronto, providing legal advice through an integrated practice with extensive experience in serving charities and not-for-profits including religious organizations, operating across Canada as well as internationally.

The special guest speakers this year are The Honourable Ratna Omidvar, C.M., O.Ont., Senator for Ontario and Former Deputy Chair of the Special Senate Committee on the Charitable Sector who will be speaking on the topic of Looking Back, Looking Forward: A Conversation with The Senator about the Charitable Sector, as well as Bruce MacDonald, President, Imagine Canada, on the topic of Challenges and Opportunities for the Charitable & NFP Sector:  What to Get Ready for.

On demand replay will not be made available. Webinar registration will be the only access to the information. 

This webinar is eligible for 3.75 hours of substantive CPD credits towards the annual Law Society of Ontario (LSO) and CPA Professional Development requirements.

Registration fee is $35.00 plus HST per person ($39.55)
